Remembering the Triangle Fire

On the anniversary of the Triangle Fire, which occurred on March 25th, 1911 we participated in the public art project, “Chalk.”  Volunteers for this public art project inscribe victims’ names in front of where they lived. We remembered a few of the young women, from our neighborhood, who lost their lives that day.

Sarah (Surka) Brenman | 17 years old | 257 East 3rd Street

Violet (Velye) Schochet | 21 years old | 740 East 5th Street

Rose Mehl | 15 years old | 278 East 7th Street
