Microplastic Madness

September 27, 2019 @ 6:00 pm8:00 pm EDT

Free

Join us in honoring NYC youth climate activists with the world premier of Cafeteria Culture’s documentary, Microplastic Madness. This free screening will be followed by a Q&A hosted by plastic-free Youth Advocates and students from Red Hook, Brooklyn —the heroes in the movie! This is a youth-focused event with a limited number of seats for adults. RSVP required!

Microplastic Madness is about the plastic pollution crisis and it’s impact on wildlife, health and climate change through the lens of 50 fifth graders living on the frontlines of climate change. The film documents the journey of these 11-year olds as their understanding of plastic pollution morphs into extraordinary leadership. With stop-motion animation, expert interviews, and heartfelt youth commentary, this inspiring narrative conveys an urgent, accessible message of informed action and hope.

This event is an opportunity to get inspired to take action at your own school and community and to meet amazing youth heroes! Free resources will be available soon.
