Hester Street Fair’s Girl Power Fair is back for its fourth edition on June 15th with the best and the boldest womxn in New York! Our beloved Girl Power event is proud to showcase a line up of owned and operated businesses, vendors, artists, and performers—a packed day powered by womxn! EVENT DETAILS Charitable Partners Lower East Side Girls Club Hester Street Fair has partnered again with The Lower Eastside Girls Club of NY which provides a place where middle school and high school girls can grow, learn, have fun, and develop confidence in themselves and their ability to make a difference in the world. By delivering strong arts, literacy, science, health and leadership programs we provide girls with the vision to plan – and the tools to build – their future. 11th Annual Walk-A-Thon and Block Party for Girls’ and Women’s Health

WALK-A-THON A fun parade winding through the parks and streets of the East Village and ending at an "old school" Girls Club-style block party, where we'll be dancing to the beats of the Girls Club’s own Avenue DJs. The Health & Wellness Fair and Block Party will host an array of community health providers and organizations, street games and participatory activities, healthy food for purchase, and our Fair Trade & Girl Made products for sale. Teams gather outside the Lower Eastside Girls Club at 10:30 AM to register for the walk. At 11:15 AM, the Brooklyn Express Drumline Marching Band will kick-off the Walk-A-Thon with their energetic rhythms and beats.HOW IT WORKS Sign up your team or become a team captain at girlsclub.org/walkathon Gather 10 or more people to form a team. Each team member raises a minimum of $100 through small donations. Round up your team for October 5th and get creative with your team’s dress code and name (there will be prizes and t-shirts!) Bonus! WHEN Saturday, October 16, 2021 10:45 AM: Registration 11:15 AM: Kickoff 12:30 PM: Block Party 3:00 PM: End WHATMarch to the beat of Batalá NY drummers alongside Girls Club members for a joyous parade that will wind through the parks and streets of the East Village and end in an “old school”-style block party outside our Center for Community. Join us for music, dancing, street games and activities; and a selection of our La Tiendita products for sale. The Block Party for Community Health & Wellness will host an array of community health partners who will share valuable resources and information.WHYThis year’s Walk-A-Thon will support the Center for Wellbeing & Happiness, our newest initiative which provides free, wrap-around wellness services to all genders and all generations in the Lower East Side. In 2020, we expanded our mission and service population with the launch of our Center for Wellbeing and Happiness with a core belief that the wellbeing of our members is intimately connected to the wellbeing of their families, community, and the world.
