The Center for Wellbeing and Happiness (CWBH) is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented, and community-driven Program Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Senior Program Manager, the Program Coordinator will play a vital role in building and nurturing relationships with community members, assisting them in accessing a wide range of wellbeing services and classes, and providing crucial administrative support for CWBH programming.
This position is full-time and located in the Lower East Side of New York City.
Work Schedule
- Tuesdays, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Wednesdays, 11:00 am – 7:30 pm
- Thursdays, 11:30 am – 8:30 pm
- Fridays, 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
- Saturdays, 10:00 am – 4:00 pm
Some additional evening and weekend hours may be required for special programs and events.

About the Center for Wellbeing and Happiness:
The Center for Wellbeing and Happiness (CWBH) is an initiative of the Lower East Side Girls Club (LESGC) which provides free holistic health and wellness programs to Lower East Side community members of all generations and genders.
Rooted in the belief that the wellbeing of our youth members is intimately connected to the wellbeing of their family, their community, and their world, the Girls Club has expanded its mission and service population with the launch of their Center for Wellbeing and Happiness (CWBH).
The Center for Wellbeing and Happiness strategically addresses the wellbeing and health disparities in the Lower East Side by utilizing intentional, trauma-informed, holistic programming rooted in community-centered resilience, prevention, recovery, and self-reliance. The CWBH serves as a wellness hub providing the space and opportunity for local organizations, expert practitioners, health-based city agencies and institutions, and our talented and resourced- filled community members, to connect, collaborate, and serve. Together, we create programming that addresses the totality of our community’s wellbeing needs.
Key Responsibilities
Program Administration & Coordination
- Serve as logistics lead for CWBH membership, enrollment, and attendance
- Design and circulate CWBH enrollment forms/links, in coordination with the Senior Program Manager
- Tracking attendance and other program metrics to assess program effectiveness
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all program activities, participant information, and referrals
- Regularly staff the CWBH front desk–checking members in, directing members to classes, and promoting the Center’s services
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to continuously improve programs and services
Community Engagement and Communications
- Orient new members to the space and communicate CWBH policies
- Provide feedback and insights on program improvements based on community feedback and engagement
- Respond to public and community inquiries about organizational initiatives and special events
- Support with organizing special events, workshops, and wellness initiatives
- Support with identifying updates for the CWBH website, email newsletter, and social media
- Provide translation and interpretation for members, as needed if able
Education and Experience
- Has one of the following:
- Associates degree or current enrollment toward a degree in Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or related field;
- 2 years of experience in program coordination, community outreach, or a related field. Experience in health, wellness, or social services is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse communities and individuals, especially those from underserved populations
- Preferred: Experience delivering services to low-income families in the Lower East Side/Chinatown;
- Fluent in English and has a professional working proficiency in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or the Fuzhou dialect.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Belief in the mission and values of LESGC’s Center for Wellbeing & Happiness – CWBH Mission
- A collaborative team player with a strong commitment to community service and social impact
- Able to work independently and take initiative when needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including community members, and organizational partners
- Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Gmail, Google Voice, Sheets, Docs)
- Experience with data management tools and CRMs is a plus
- Empathetic, compassionate, and patient with a genuine passion for supporting others’ wellbeing.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and a holistic approach to wellbeing is a plus
- Understanding of issues of equity and social justice is a plus
